Kirkland Ltd as a business has changed dramatically in the 5 or so years I have been associated with it through my time as a Director of Wisbech Contract Farming Ltd purchasing Tower sprayers, picking platforms, hydraulically operated bin trailer, telehandler, planting auger and a pruning sweeper for our own fruit growing enterprise. In that time the business has expanded in scale dramatically, moving from various premises on its journey, currently to the new site today just outside Maidstone.
Such changes require major investment and foresight and come with very considerable risk, especially in today’s ever changing world. Kirkland has been prepared to take that risk, and their achievement has been a great example to other businesses in this very competitive market.
For Kirkland, having an increased portfolio for which there is a demand, strengthens the position with its customers. This has been an added benefit of WCF’s success as having the ability to invest in state of the art fruit growing equipment has enabled us to develop new intensive growing systems particularly high wire trellis systems for apple and pear orchards noting, that when they are well managed, such fruit production has enabled us to also maintain our competitive edge. We hope to continue with our development in this industry and wish Kirkland all the best in the future and look forward to dealing with them for many years to come.
